We developed a bark beetle monitoring system which is not only time-saving, but sustainable and easy-to-use. Our system is composed of a Borky box and a software part.
How does it work?
Borky-Box
The Borky Box can be attached as an add-on to standard slit traps. The beetles are attracted by pheromones in the slit trap and then fall into the Borky Box. As soon as a certain threshold value is reached, the box transmits a signal via LoRaWAN.
Borky-Software
The signal is then combined with additional data such as satellite images or weather information in a model based on machine learning and presented to you in our Borky software. The software can be installed on mobile phones, tablets or computers.
The Borky software keeps you up to date on any bark beetle activity in your area wherever you are, whether in the car, in the office or during other forestry work
